- Sun Apr 05, 2009 11:56 pm #108522 more and more people are doing the hood ride look, but IMO it doesn't work with cars built after the 80's. 90's and newer are too modern & aerodynamic to pull it off and look authentic.

this benz is newer and works because they painted 'rust' on the bumper and trim to complete the look. otherwise these plastic parts wouldn't match the rust on the rest of the car.

The vw's, especially the bugs, can pull it off. EG's & EK's don't look authentic IMO. The rust on their hoods isn't 'natural' just stripped and left bare. It looks correct wen the paint is neglected after years and wears through.

Seams silly, err maybe stupid that people look for cars with out honda rust then make them rust. :thumbdown:

If the "rust" is painted on, that might makes since, Real rust is just stupid.

The Red Hatch with a full rusted hood looks kinda cool, the other ones are just :thumbdown:
