Speeding Ticket...

- Thu Apr 30, 2009 1:32 am #114036 3 months after i got my license i got a speeding ticket, 74 in a 55 in a construction zone at 11:30 at night when my license was good till 9 at night.
got that one reduced to a illegal U-turn. paid my $210 fine and end of story.

November of last year (2008) 2 days before my 17th birthday i got yet another speeding ticket, 84 in a 65. well me being the genius i am put it in my glove box excited about my birthday completely forgot the ticket until about a month ago when my friend got one it jogged my memory that i had one i never did anything about!
Monday of this week i got a letter in the mail saying if i don't respond by May 28th i have a suspended license. after some research and such i found out i can get it reduced if i play this right 10mph lower then the ticket (so 74 in a 65) which is a lot better. i need to figure out how much this will be plus a fee for not responding and such. so that's better news.

At least when i get my new job i figure this out so i can actually pay it, just my hopes of sinking some money into the car are put off a little bit.

edit: as a guideline in NYS the Minimum and Maximum are as follows: 1 - 10 mph over = $45 min - $150 max (no imprisonment)

i had to pay 150 your prolly gunna have to also
i had a judge we know bring mine down from 45 in a 30 to 40 in a 30


be careful about points on your license your gunna have 4 if not more when these go through and in nys 6 is when you lose your license

ive got speeding tickets cuz i was late and the other one was cuz i wasnt paying attention

so lay off! :x

almost everyone gets speeding tickets who cares it's part of life just throw it over your shoulder.... just pay it and get on with life

If you can't control the speed of your vehicle, which is proven YOU can't, then you shouldn't be allowed to drive at all.

It's better to have a speed limit, than have someone dead.

- Thu Apr 30, 2009 4:52 pm #114152 ok i have had 1 ticked for speeding in the last 6 years. 2 tickets for my sterio and 2 for tint witch those i could give 2 shits bout. but if you have 2 speeding tickets befor your 18th bday you should pay more atention. slow the fuck down. your gonna get yourself hurt. or someone else. if it were my choice if your under 18 and get a ticket or at least a moving violation i would yank your L's till you turned 18.so slow the fuck down or get the fuck of the road.

yeah its 2 tickets, not to mention there was no way i was doing 84 going up hill in my automatic hatch with 198,000 miles.
so before anything you people need to think of that, and i even got in one accident? nope where as half of you people i see on here cars are totaled or if not you buy them totaled, idk about you but i would rather a speeding ticket then a f*cked up car.
so back off. mostly method seeing as he's the smartest one out of us all, atleast so he thinks

for those who said nice comments like just slow down next time... those ppl are the ones who really understand and make this site better! :thumb:

- Thu Apr 30, 2009 7:31 pm #114188 a my ticket was only 6 miles over. going 71 in a 65. but the cop had no radar and was just a guess. i told him i was only going 68 but he was a supper dick and still gave it to me for 71 in a 65. ya every one here has speeded around and i know we all have at least one ticket. or done stupid shit. ya i speed from time to time but im always going with the flow of traffic. i also have never been in a accident in any of my 3 cars. and all 3 were clean title. even my civic has never been wrecked. and buying a fucked up car has nothing to do with speeding. that damage came from the idiot who wrecked it. and one thing i hate is ppl bashing on other ppls cars like that, not saying your the only one and not sayin i havent befor, but i have learned its not cool. i love my car as everyone loves there cars.i will not bash on ppls cars because of damage and shit. ppl get them to fix them up and have nice cars. you drive a civic i drive a civic we all drive civics. so if its the tickets were talking bout lets keep it on topic.
