hey i have a stock d16y8 in my ej2 and i want to know if adding an oil catch can will have any benefits?

Not as much benefit as a modified or boosted motor would have, but yes it could help a little bit. The line going from the valve cover to the intake tube can suck in some blow-by from the valve cover and recirculate back into the intake manifold/throttle body.
