- Mon Apr 05, 2010 7:16 am #185632 OK WELL MY POWER STEERING IS LEAKING AND I DECIDED INSTEAD OF BUYING A NEW RACK TO JUST LEAVE IT HOW IT IS...IS IT POSSIBLE TO TAKE OUT THE P/S RACK AND DRIVE W/O IT OR DO I HAVE TO LEAVE IT IN EVEN THOUGH IM NOT GONNA USE IT...HELP POR FAVOR

- Mon Apr 05, 2010 7:35 am #185640 if you want.. it will eventually brake on you and your gonna have to replace it.. but i guess theres 2 diff types of rack.. not to sure but 1 is for when u dont have p/s and one is for when u have p/s

you could have some suspension damage
but again not 100% sure

or you can just drain the fluid and remove all the lines and such and "convert" it so to speak to manual steering that way.... I wouldn't really recommend that way but ive seen it done to two cars with no problems
