Hi guys, My name is Dave from Edinburgh Scotland, i purchased my civic eg just over 3 years ago its a 1.5Lsi, here's a pic of what it looked liked when I got it.

I'm not so happy to say though with being a student and not having much time or money it has become very neglected over the last couple of years and has suffered quite bad from Honda rust, and has had a few dings here and there mainly thanks to people in the supermarket car park.

Over the years I have been thinking about my plans of what to do but yet again never really had the money, some of the plans have changed but the most have stayed the same.

So finally just before Christmas i came across this very nice piece of equipment to fit:

As if you guys wouldn't know but its a B18C out of a JDM ITR. I have also purchase lots of other nice goodies to, so hopefully if all goes well I will get it tidied up and all this stuff fitted during my summer holidays if I can find enough time.

This will really be my first time modifying my own car and have not done and engine swap before I have done a lot of research but I really hope you guys don't mind me asking question as I am still a little confused/undecided on some aspects of it.

I also try to dabble into a little bit of game development when I can and since having the civic my plan has been to get it in a real racing simulator, yes I know its in forza and gt4 and that but, as much as I like the game would like to drive a more realistic version of the car. although just recently I have notice someone else is also having an attempt at it for the simulator I was planning make it for. This was more just to let you guys know where my interest are but so please don't hold me to it but if I ever get the time to pics this up again, I will let you guys know as help to get the physics as realistic as possible would be much appreciated.

y0! Welcome to Civic-EG. Nice looking hatch, I think eveyone goes through the Honda Rust stage in life owning a Honda :D I still have the disease. :(... One question though, you say you're a student, I was not so long ago, how the eff are you able to afford a B18C swap in a Civic EG on insurance??? :?

Spending money I don't have lol, nah I got some inheritance a while back and finally decided there wasn't much better place to spend some of it than on the civic to tidying it back up. Also decided to go for ignorance is bliss on the insurance side of it once the engine is in I've got no choice I'll need to find the money. lol :D
Might do a bit of investigation before I do the swap as that's not going to be until the summer so got some time yet, but my insurance is not to bad with the 1.5 the now, and I'm use to getting ridiculous quotes.

Ah ok, well I'm 21 with 4 years no claims, paying 180 for the year with the eg4 so hoping it won't be to silly.
