My First Civic
Posted: Wed Jul 23, 2008 4:17 pmHi guys, good to be here. I have been into Japanese sports cars for a while now, I have had a Nissan Silvia S12 (beautiful) Nissan Bluebird Turbo SR (brilliant fun and so cheap to get power out of it!) a Mk1 CRX (OMG how wonderful?? and HOW rusty!?) and a Mk1 MR2.
I have a good friend who has had a few civics, and has just swapped his EP type R for a DC5, and it was he that pointed me at the EG.
So being 'inbetween cars' (and broke) I trawled ebay and found a 95 EG hatch LSI in Teal, so I went to look at it and found it had some rot problems (not too bad) but had no power what so ever, and would only hit 3.5k rpm befor dropping dead. But there was somthing about it, so (I have NO idea why!) I bought it, with 5 months MOT and 6 months tax for £450.
The engine problem turned out to be a mis aligned timing belt (2 teeth out and it STILL worked?!? ONLY in a Honda..) so fixed that and tried to run it only to find it wouldnt pull, it felt like it was being suffocated. Turns out the back box was blocked solid!! SO sorted that and she runs amazingly!
The car is a joy to drive I love it i am finding excuses just to go out!
I have bought a Japspeed decat pipe and am on the hunt for some tein springs, needs a plate here and there but she is brilliant.
I got a question tho Ill stick it in the engine section, and post some pics of her as soon as I take some
