how to clean EGR valve on 92 civic vx
my car idles a lot when comes to a stop. like trying to shutoff
is there a solution rather than paying for a new one

you already posted a solution. clean it. while your at it, clean your IACV(idle air control valve) all you need is wrenches, carb clener/brake cleaner, and a wire brush for the egr.

where exactly is it.(IACV) and with what tools i could clean it with

i checked the check engine light test and got 12 which was an EGR problem. will it work without the light turning on again

The IACV is an Idle air control valve and sometimes you just need to open it up and wind the spring retainer back in. That's what my issue was (idle would go from 500 to 1000 and back over and over and over).
