#42683 i have a problem.i have recently done a mini me on a d15b7, i put a z6 head on , got a guy to set up the timing and it slipped and bent 6 exhaust valves, so i got 6 valves grinded in and set the timing up myself and it started 1st time, the engine only has 200 miles on it since the mini me and i had a lot of trouble getting it to run good on all 4 cylinders and it wasnt burning all the petrol.it failed the m,o,t test on emissons being to high.CO-idle was 1.320% and the required limit is 3.50% vol or less. and the HC was 2990 ppm and the rquired limit was 1200 ppm or less,so i went home thinking it was something internal and pulled the plugs out and the 4 of them was really suity and im pretty sure it was of no3 cylinder. so i bought another 4 new spark plugs and finally got it to run good burning all the plugs till they were a light grey . that was on friday after it failed so when i got it running good i booked another retest for tomorrow 18/2/2008 but today i strted it up and when i accelerate white smoke comes out from the exhaust. and the plugs were suity again and i never even drove it since friday when i got it burning good on all 4. could this be anything to do with overfueling or valve stem seals and i just watched gorveat video of his car puttin out white smoke from his head gasket going and mine isnt as bad as i think.its not loosing coolant or oil and still revs real good. please dont say piston rings. lemme know please as im about to fail the test again i reckon.

#42695 i also so forgot to say that when i came back from failing the mot i put in £10 of super unleaded (97 octane) and four new plugs. and it burned the plugs a nice grey/brown and today i put in £10 of regular petrol, would this matter?no?

#42752 When you're not loosing oil or coolant, and it's running 100% allright... I don't think it's the head gasket.
Keep in mind it still could be, I can't see from here what's going on ;)

A stainless steel exhaust wil give a lot of white smoke as well, on a cold and/or rainy day.

#44761 i just got a compression test done to rule out the head gasket and all 4 came up with 165 and above, what else could cause this smoke, its a bluey white when i acellerate hard, the mechanic said it could be a elctrical fault or a o2 sensor or to rich of mix or valve stem seals, would any of these cause it to smoke like that? i have no cels all though i got the code 43 ages ago but after i turned the car off the it never came back again, i think it has something to do with the fuel system. please help as its destroying the enjoyment of driving the car.

#44770 and the engine seems to be a lil thirsty so im leaning towards a petrol fuel problem which would indicate why the plugs are gettin so badly carbon fouled?
