well just look in the main spot like the cylinder wals, crankshaft area were it sits, warped head. best thing to do is if you get a bare block, take it to a shop and let them make sure it has no cracks and that the block is not warped. other than that it will be visible damage...

um i dont have any. but like i said. any reall damage will be visible and can be see. if it has any small cracks or warped head then a machine shop has to find them. you cant see the head being warped and sometimes cant see the cracks. as long as it does not have a big ass hole blown threw it, then its proably good. what exactly are you doing??? plus you need to change your title. ls block has no meaning to what your looking for... try "whats a damaged block look like?"

^^ shooo thats nothin a lil duct tape cant fix

but like egsedanguy said you should take it to a machine shop and have them check it for you

but check the cylinder walls for scoring
make sure its not warped
make sure there aint a big ass hole in the side of the block lik the pic above
check for deep sratches or notches or any chips on the crank and where the crank sits

but you best bet is to take it a mechine shop and have them check it
and if its good while its there have them hone it, deep clean it, and all the good things they can do to it :thumb:
