popping sound in exhaust

Anyways.. Ive been racking my mind trying to figure out why I get a popping sound out of my exhaust when its sitting in idle... and its only when im in idle.. if anyone can help me out it would be appreciated...

- Fri Aug 14, 2009 12:37 am #137823 Usually an ignition problem. Check your timing and then test the coil and ignitor with a multimeter.

Could also be an exhaust leak. Exhaust isn't one constant flow, it's a series of pulses and actually sucks oxygen in which ignites in the pipe.

I have more ideas but try those first and report back.
