Cold Idle Problem

So i just bought this car a couple days ago and the engine runs great its a 99 dx motor( no vtec ) :( but a mini me can fix that.. but the only problem is when i start it up cold it idles up and down between 1500-2300 then once at normal temp it runs fine.. idk if this means i have a bad FICV or just maybe clean it out? what do u guys think?

yeah it's your FITV.... you can take it off the IM and take it apart, clean all the components with brake/carb cleaner and screw the plunger all the way back down and re-install it.

to be safe, i would also take the iacv and clean that out as well, i'm sure you can find DIY's all over the place to do that. i have always had an idle issue for about 1.5 years now and i finally screwed my idle screw on the TB in all the way and it's great! :thumb:

^^^agree strongly. I had the same issue. i bought a car last february and I went threw a world of money and shit to just and up cleaning out my FITV. look at these links from H-T.
