- Sun Jan 24, 2010 6:13 am #170688 i drive a z6 and tonight i pulled out of my driveway and it cut off on me. then it wouldn't start. i've had problems with the fuel not priming, but it primied fine today. its not the main relay because i changed it recently and not the filter either because i too changed it recently. i checked the spark plugs and wires and those seem fine. i haven't checked the dizzy yet.

the car cranks but won't catch ignition.

did you set the plug wire on the valve dover and actually see a spark on each one when cranking?

- Sun Jan 24, 2010 8:03 pm #170792 Take the spark plug cover off of each one, one at a time, and touch it on the valve cover and attempt to start the car to see if it is getting spark in each cylinder. Do it to each one of course. If they are all sparking, then you can check that off the list of "possible problems."

Not only do I suck at explaining things, I also could be wrong, so if I am, chime in fellas.

- Sun Jan 24, 2010 8:35 pm #170799 Try the ICM or Coil...Those are the parts that seem to go out the most because there so weak.. You can have those tested at a Autoparts store (Autozone/Kragens/Ext.)You gotta take them out though, there inside the Dizzy. Oh and check the rotor and cap too...

But first narrow things down like u have so far, check grounds also!! Hope that helps..
