so i recently took a trip to michigan...it was about 260 miles there and back...i got home and noticed there was a weird ticking noise...i didnt think much of it cuz the motor went through quite a journey...anyway i take my car out today and i get home and the noise is three times as bad....sounds like my valves are tapping or somethin....anyway it also looks like my timing belt could have streched out a bit...i think i might have skipped some timing and everything is off now...can someone give me some suggestions on what u think i should do...i have a stock d16z6

if your timing belt skipped a tooth, your engine would be running horribly, so I don't think that is it. Has your oil been changed on time and was it up to the proper level? It may just be time to adjust the valvelash. I think it is supposed to be checked every 15k mi.

oh if it is running bad then definitely check the timing.
you can hold the tensioner to make the belt loose, and then rotate the cam gear pulley just a tooth, then tighten the tensioner. so that way you don't have to take everything apart.
I'd check it w/ a timing light first. also, sometimes you can tell by rotating your dizzy to advance / retard the timing. clockwise = retard, counterclockwise = advance.
