cylinder issues
Posted: Fri Jul 01, 2011 7:40 amany one know how difficult it is to fix a leak in cyclinder 2 or what a reasonable price to pay to have it fixed... 93 civic loses power and sounds like misfire also....

Leak down, compression tests need to be done to help determine what is bent or broken causing the leak.
My bet is on a bent valve. Call a cylinder head machine shop and ask what it will cost to do a valve job, clean and resurface the head. You will need to supply the replacement valve(s), valve stem seals and more than likely if the valve is bent it trashed the guide too so those will need to be replaced.
Depending on the engine, it may be cheaper to just replace the engine.
