how do i tell were my leak is? piston rings or valve seat maybe valve guide. I did a compression test and i'm getting about 120psi in 1,3,4, number 2 is getting about 70psi and i'm burning crazy oil. i think it is missing because of all the oil in the chamber. it's not a very smooth idle. Does anybody know how i figure this out without tearing into the engine.

sounds fucked to me... should be getting nearer 200psi iirc for compression.

rip that thing apart and get rebuilding :thumb:

Do a leak down test on the motor.

how many miles does it have? what engine is it?

sounds like it may have lived a good life and it's time to rebuild...

like Chicago said, next step is a leakdown test :thumb:

i got it with about 20000, i've put about 50000 so i'd say about 70000 on the engine 170000 on the car. i have the old engine and the block has a hole in it were my #1 piston rod snapped i also have a vtec head i bought so i should be able to make one engine. It's my everyday driver for now so i was thinking about getting a stock engine for $400 and taking the 2 i have playing with them and seeing what i can make out of the d15 engine
