DIY need how to clean vtec solenoid ,anybody done it ?

any body have a diy to a link or have or know how to properly clean your vtec solenoid ? and i was told if cleaned vtec will pop harder ? true ?? thanks oh and clean with what substance ? thankyou

carb cleaner......and unbolt the two bolts holding the vtec solenoid..its pretty straight forward.

I have not heard that before, let us know if it works. I have never cleaned mine...

i cleaned mine...and installed a new vtec gasket. There was alot of gunk in the oil screen. I doubt it will hit harder though. just probably run smoother..

HOWLY HELLL !!! im :shock: ED LOL

before u guys posted this i just went to google and put,
{ CLEANING VTEC SOLENOID} read what people wrote tried it out only took 15 minutes just got back from test drive now im in my shop typing of the labtop, and man BELIEVE IT OR NOT !!! VTEC KICK'S IN SMOOTHER ,NICER EXHAUST SOUND !! AND MOST OF ALL THE RPM BAND SCREAMS !!!

I MIGGHT OF WORKED BETTER ON MINE because of the FULLY BUILT NA
AZ6 160HP but , man everybody vtecvking should try it !!

AND PLEASE no body beat me to it as im going to make a DIY tonight and start posting it !!

TEAL: u should add this DIY to the DIY section,that is after i make it !!


oh and i just cleaned it with water !! but im going tp put on new gasket and paint my vtec solenoid tonight, and will im at it ill repeat the process and make a DIY OK ?? thanks a bunch !! man hynes should have made this a every 50,000 mile tune up opion LOL

You should just put your engine specs in your sig so you don't have to REPEAT IT IN EVERY POST.
