#69776 I swapped to a D16z6, and just kept my D15b7 IM on there. I have CEL 14, Idea Air Control Valve. I replaced the unit, and reset the ECU and still had the code. I was told that the D16z6 had to have a "T" fitting for the coolant lines from the IAC, under the TB, and the block. I connected them like this... line from the head into the "T". Line from the IAC into the "T". Line from the TB into the "T".

I think I have something mixed up, or i just need different fittings to make it flow better. I was wounding if anyone had any diagrams of how the flow goes.

#69780 Any way you can get a z6 intake manifold? they aren't too expensive and they are less restrictive & would solve your problem.

Without seeing your actual engine, it is hard to tell how you will need to route the coolant line. But I believe it should come out of the water pipe by the tranny side of the block, then to the Fast Idle Thermal Valve under throttle body (some models do not have one, but still have the nipples for the hose to pass through), then to the IACV, then back into the other side of the water pipe, by the alternator side.

I think the line under the TB goes into the IAC. But idk where the line on the right goes to

#70108 the d15b7 and d16z6 IM's both have that nipple facing straight up that you have circled in the pic.

edit: the line that originally came out of that nipple on the right in your pic went into a metal tube that was joined with another metal tube parallel that went from the valve cover to the intake tube. However, I can't tell what that coolant line went to after it left the other side of that metal tube. :?

U think its possible to "T" on the other side of the IAC?

#70115 I would try it in different places and see what happens, or maybe switch the hoses around coming out of the engine. maybe you have coolant trying to flow from the wrong hose.

#70250 That's not your problem. I bypassed that coolant completely, sealed it up with a thick piece of sheet metal and a paper gasket. Never threw a code or caused any problems.

u talking about the IAC?

right now i just capped off the line coming out of the block (i dont think thats the greatest thing to do but if i can make it to school then whatever). I'm taking into class tomorrow and have some of my instructors look at it.

No I'm talking about the FITV. There's coolant going from the intake manifold to the FITV to the IACV to the back of the block above the alternator. You can simply loop this line to the line out of the intake manifold, plug the FITV, and pick up a couple hp and a couple mpg.

The line you blocked I'm pretty sure by your description is the one going either to the heater or to the thermostat.
