#74136 Ok mods, I'm not sure where to put it since there are two engines involved here.

So here's the thing, right now I still have a stock d15b7 on my car and I have a z6 head laying around here waiting for me to complete the other parts. Just today I visited a local forum and some guy is looking for a sohc vtec swap so I just offered him the z6 head 'coz he might want it, and if he does I won't be able to do my mini-me anymore.

But in case he buys it, my friend has some spare engines that he's giving to me for free but needs rebuilding. What he has is a b18a and a dohc zc. I'd just like to know what you guys think would be the cheapest and the less time consuming swap, overall?

Would my d15b7 tranny bolt up to the Zc? Which one is obd1? obd0?

If there is a write up, can I just ask for the links, etc?

Thanks a lot in advance! :thumb:

#74139 If the engines need rebuilding, it means your going to be spending a lot of money renewing internal parts, could be worth it but it would be cheaper to buy a B-series and dump that in, or do your mini-me as originally planned

#74740 my buddy has a zc and im fairly sure zc trannys arnt the same as regular d series. as for the ls they are a pretty mean motor to boost and you could to a vtec conversion on that if desired.

#74778 Thanks for the feedbacks, guys. Well the LS/Vtec is one of my friends' suggestions, but given the money, the time, and the workplace, I really can't do it. I just put my z6 head in my condo. Thanks sdots for that idea, maybe I just need to research more for those parts for the block. :? Goodluck to me.

#75083 Don't bother with the B18A unless it's OBD1 (1992 or 1993). But really, a B18B (again, OBD1 (94 or 95)) would be even better.

x2, should of said buy a B18c if you can afford it. If you can get a B18C4, they are cheaper and give good gas mileage.

B18C4 wasn't available in Canada, or north america for that matter, we got the C1 and the C5.

#75246 Well, thanks for the idea guys but the point is I'm choosing between what I have right now budget-wise. That's the reason why I'm choosing between those 2 engines. But I've decided to stick with the mini-me now and finish it since I have most of the parts gathered up already. I just want to finish it so I can buy my fairlady. :D
