What motor you want depends on your budget, what kind of power you're looking to make, and the purpose of the car. I believe that anyone can do an engine swap with a civic as long as you have the tools, patience, and help; there are many well documented instructions for swapping motors into our cars. As long as you follow those instructions and have an IQ higher than 90, you can do it. If you don't have tools or any friends with tools then you're better off letting a shop do it. Let us know what your budget is and what you're looking for.

probably a budget of £1000

not worth spending alot more to be fair on a 14 year old car.
its done 140k at the mo, was looking into a 1.5 or 1.6 vtec
and best place to find engines as i cant seem to find many around here
