lightweight flywheel HOW TO CHECK ?

hello i just picked up a lihtweight flywheel for 30$ from a guy that had it in a blown motor , my question is how do i check it if it has any damage or broken ?? or if it has been worn on.

look at the surface, it should be smooth with no cracks or roughness. if there is, then get it resurfaced. Also if it is glazed over it will need resurfaced.

ok and if it has any blue marks ?? and how much does resurfishsing cost around ? thanks

Get it resurfaced no matter what. It shouldnt cost much more than $30.

WERE can i do that ? autozone ? napa ?? who will do that ?? ALSO its a racing one because it has the holes and stuff how do i know if its a good fly ? thanks

i just weighted it and it weights at 9lb is that ok ? i will have with it an OEM new clutch and pres plate/

THANKS MIKE ! somepeople said 9lb is to light for everyday use, u know im lightely built up na so i was thinking a lighter then stock will help, and the clutch i got is and ebay replacement one so i should be good to go, i tried googleing places that resur the flywheel no luck, mabey autozone,or napa, if u find out let me know , thanks

so it sounds like u have done this more then twice ? so is it REALLY help full ? what does it EXACTELY do resurface meaning grind down right ??
if so thee has to be a limit on how many times u can do this thanks

some like Fidanza have a replacable friction surface. you bolt on a new friction surface. others are like brake rotors, you get then resurfaced until they are too thin. Try NAPA or any machine shop or engine builder.
