Today I just got interested in 92-95 Civic crash test vids. Pretty shocked at what I found

Well, with the front crashes the cars doing what its supposed to, crumple. Thats how it saves the passengers, no matter how bad it may look. That side impact though...your screwed no matter what kind of car your in...even new vehicles if hit at those speeds. I worked as an EMT-B before going back to school and saw many car wrecks in south Florida and despite the cars looking like hell, saw a couple older civics, the drivers could have been a lot worse. If the chassis is stiff, without proper restraint systems in the drivers compartment, the impact is much much worse for the occupants and this is where we would see ejections. If you want death traps though the older american small cars normally dissintegrated upon impact...that was scary. We'd be track car parts a quarter mile down the road from a high speed.
