The driver walked away!! The safety equipment did its job very well. This is at Turn 7, end of the back stretch. He apparantly lost his brakes and tried to still make the turn at 95 mph. The car went off and cartwheeled through China Beach, over the tire wall and a couple fences.

you take these pics? if ya did you did one hell of a job not shaking i would of lol adrenaline yeah......

but on a serious note thank god for good roll cages im sure a few years back he would of been in critical condition on a stretcher in a helicopter .....we have come along way in racing saftey

Proof a roll-cage will save your life just about in a safe car. If that was one of our Civic's it's sad to say but the damage would be life taking. But all in all a good crash to watch

interesting how the engine can still be rescued from that shell
