throttle body spacer

ok i was sitting in class and was talking car stuff to a friend and he said something about a throttle body spacer and that it will add torque and hp is this true or is a spacer making more power just a load of bs

Personally believe they're a waste of money, I'm sure others will argue differently.

to me thats all they are, a spacer. in my opinion you could get an aluminum block drill it out and slap it on.

i've done alot, and i mean alot, of reading on these.

from what i'd read.
if they are less then 1 meter in height, its useless for HP and TQ gains, anything that would show on a dyno, or be worth the money for the .1% gain

unless

you are using it to disperse heat, then they can be useful but you don't gain anything but lowering temp of the TB where it mounts to the head

alright if it was true im in a CNC class and i have a teacher that works for richard childress racing and i would have gotten him to help my make one
