Lightweight Flywheels - How does it effect Honda engines?

From my experiences with the Supra, a lightweight flywheel makes a world of difference when it comes to engine revs and how quickly it responds/ returns to idle. So I have a couple of questions:
How does a lightweight flywheel do on these smaller displacement engines?
I have a 1.5L D15, I notice when I pull higher rpms and go to shift, I put the trans in gear and release the clutch before the engine has time to drop to the correct rpms for the new gear. So I figured maybe a lightweight flywheel would help this?
Thoughts? Opinions?
Thanks.
