I am hearing more and more story's about good lsd's for a D-series gearbox like the S20 (d16z6 gear box)
I heard good news about the latest OBX LSD, any one got an opinion about it? or more info?
My gearbox is almost dead so a rebuild with LSD is a option..

I'm with you, time for a rebuild. I've heard a lot of good things about the OBX LSD. I've seen it as cheap as $360 too.

there are a few versions of the OBX LSD.
there is a version 1, version 2, version 2.5 and version 3.
I am unaware of the differences but on D-series.org, a member called transzex will know as he is the tranny god of sohc trannies.

Mista Bone is a guy from southern OH who is a legend when it comes to D-series trannys. I don't think there is anything he doesn't know about them - he builds custom geared trannys.
I'm on the fence about paying him to install an OBD LSD or learning to do it myself. because Cincy is such a far drive, I'm prob gonna do it myself

There is a write up on rebiulding the D tranny OBX talking about the internals and such. Telling you not to just put it in..but to take it apart and check everything first.
This is a must read for D series owners that want the OBX
