Changing Axles

I have tried to change my axles myself in the past, but I ran into a problem where my axle will not go in all the way, no matter how hard i push it or which way I turn it it will just not fit. It looks just like this image in this thread.

I see the problem with his axle was it was the wrong one. I know mine is the right one as I bought the correct spec and after my failed attempt to install it my mechanic finished the job with said axle after my car was towed to his shop .

So the reason I am asking is because my driver's side axle needs to be replaced again, and I want to do it myself to save money but at the same time I am concerned about running into the same problem again. So why the hell would my axle not fit in all the way? Is it supposed to be hard or should it slip right in? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

i had to use a hammer to make sure it was snugg for mine. A few light blows to the end of a wood block to the axle made it fit fine.

I've had them get hung up on the "C" ring/clip things. As Derbo said, give them a tap and that usually does it :thumb:
