Does an s20 have the shortest ratios for a d series gearbox?

the si and ex are both a lot shorter than the dx/lx. The si is even a tiny bit shorter than the ex, but only slightly - not much to notice.

I'm not sure on the code difference for the ex/si transmission.

there is no code difference between the two. they both are b000 trannys

The only differences between Si and EX are 5th gear ratios.. .750 vs .702

its minimal difference wouldn't be worth getting one over the other.

ie. si would be at 87mph at 4000rpm vs the ex at 93mph 4000rpm. If you are going into 5th gear for quarter mile.. i applaud your speed of 126+. If anything the ex will be better for freeway (minimally)

kinda wish I had an EX tranny instead of an Si... my engine is at a steady 4k rpm on the highway :eh:
