B18B with Si Tranny

I have a quick question, i'm planning on going turbo down the road, but people keep telling me that the original LS tranny is way better for that. My question is won't having the shorter gears of the Si help in bringing the turbo up to spool range faster, and won't the car accelerate faster as well, I mean I do get pretty good acceleration right now with just the B18B and the Si tranny but this comment is sort of just in my mind bothering me I guess you could say. Any and all help will be appreciated greatly.

Thanks Guys and Gals,

-Eli

May i ask how you're using an Si tranny on a B18b?? or do you mean you're using a GSR tranny?

Sorry for the long delay but sort of forgot about this threat, I have a Genuine B18B from a 97 Teggy with my old tranny from my B16A2i, and LS/VTEC setup. it worked just fine with no modifications.
