also one question, does this steering wheel have a quick release or is this just a hub? i am confused on this.

The quick release function will be on the hub, not the actual steering wheel, so are you sure you have a "quick release function" on the hub you bought?

If you do, you should be set, however I'm not sure on installation.

- Fri Jan 25, 2008 5:12 pm #39308 Post some shots of that hub looking thing from the side. I can't tell if it's a hub or ahub and quick release.

Basically you want to unplug the battery before you start so the airbag won't pop on you.

Then you pop the caps on the left and the right of your steering wheel. There are bolts under them on each side that hold in the airbag.

Gently pull the bag out of the wheel and unplug it.

There is also a harness that looks like a belt with a plastic ring that sits in the wheel. You need to unplug it from your dash harness. The plug should be yellow.

Next, remove the one nut holding the wheel on.

Installation of the aftermarket should be self explanitory.

that is the only picture i have i havent bought it yet so, that is the one i want to buy but dont know if it has quick release.

Word of warning, for that price it's obviously a knock-off and will most likely be less quality than you would have hoped for.

If that's cool with you then no problem, but if you cash out a few more bucks you can probably get a bit better quality wheel. A hub with quick release WILL say Quick Release somewhere in the title/auction, and will cost more.

- Sat Jan 26, 2008 3:30 pm #39413 i did see some though that did say quick release that were around the same price. i know they are all knock offs but i can not justify spending over 100 on a steering wheel. do you know any places that sell steering wheels with quick release for cheaper?

These don't seem too unreasonable, but you get what you pay for.
