#53835 Well as some of you may know, I'll be headin home soon and finally be able to get into some serious work on the HB..but what im wondering is what is everyone's opinion on the interior of their rides? Mine is gutted right now with the bare essentials being in, I.E. Driver/passenger seat...that is all lol...Plus I've noticed that when people have a tendency to gut em is there much shaving involved? If i remember correctly there is like a 4in (ish) tall mounting bracket for the back seat, dead center of where the rear seat would originally sit...good idea to trim this off? Sorry I have no pics to include at this time but I'm sitting at work ><

Looking for your opinions here folks, pics too if ya have em, any user/local rides and what kind of modifying was done :D

Thanks in advance

P.S. When I say "stock" I mean with everything still intact, doesnt have to be the original what nots

#53842 In my opinion, gutting out your interior is down to choice between what you are going to use your ride for, if you're using it as a daily driver, then I don't see anypoint in gutting it. When as if you're going to use it for track or whatever then yeah gutted is the best option.

I'm thinking of doing this to my ride, from what alot of people have said taking out the interior makes a bit of different when it comes to feeling acceleration. If you're going to gut your car out (which you said you have) and are going to keep it this way, I would surgest taking out them brackets as you'll have no need for them and it'll make the rear inside look alot better.

My intentions is to get a roll cage.

I can't seem to find it, but someone awhile back did post a how to, with pictures of what brackets are left when you've gutted the rear, but I can't find it :?

I'll be doing this next week to my ride, and I'll be posting pictures :)

#53847 that bracket is annoying, but once you remove it you are saying bye to your back seats for good. that's quite a commitment if you ever want to sell the car or have rear passengers again.

I'm leaving that bracket alone for those reasons,

#53849 one thing i like is when the rear seats are removed but then a custom rear cover is made to cover the rear well and then carpeted. it looks killer when done right :thumb:

#53852 personally i agree with Slipcivic, if you're only going to race your car then gut the hell out of it but if is you're daily I really don't see the need for a gutted car. I don't like the jacked car look of a gutted car, its noisier, hotter and just plain although I've seen some nice ones. maybe is depending how you do it :?

#53858 one thing to consider on a gutted hatch is a wire tuck. There's some wires running on the left rear that you can re-route to go behind the inside of the outer panel and behind the shock tower for a cleaner look. same goes for the cable that opens the tail gate.

#53867 i like mine functional, kept the interior stock, only remove all the seats when i have a chance to blast the tracks lol

#53985 Hmm, I think I'll end up doing that teal, as I said this is just completely gutted at the moment, never finished cleaning it out real well or doing a complete gutting...i'll keep this car for a daily driver for now...and i never liked having more than 1 other passenger in the car in the first place so having no rear seat doesnt really bother me...I found some old pics in my library here to show ya'll whats been done...as you can see in the first pic of that damn bracket i was talking about...plus would ya'll recommend taking out the upper panels where the seat belt rests or ??

Still trying to find some good pictures of a gutted interior that overall looks clean...any suggestions?? Thanks for the comments guys!

#54014 Yeah...i definitely regret painting the dash >< Was younger, sick as hell when i did it, and think i was high from all the constant spray fumes in the air, Oh well...I'll prolly end up getting a new one at some point, but for now it works

#57835 well there isnt a voteing on my ideal interior i wouldnt do a stock oem interior nor a completely stripped one since ive had both in my CX im planning on right now creating a custom interior with a rear seat delete and some other things included. but keep the interior

#58508 Yeh after some debating and more thorough inspection etc. I decided that I'm gonna do a semi-strip...put in a new carpet (oem) all the plastic moldings but prolly leave the rear seat out as well...me and my bro been talking about making some custom fiber glass molding inside for an audio setup but not for sure yet...

#58534 the rear bracket is different between the hatches and the coupes right? cause I have like a metal bar type thing that is behind the seats that serves no purpose what so ever cause the seats dont even bolt to it.
