cheers guys My red paint is seriously faded, I thought that was it... respray. but ive been looking into restoring the red for now, anyone done this? Im possibly gonna do it this weekend just need to read up on the best way to do it

I pollished a car by use of Commandant 4 and a electrical polish machine. After that use somewax to secure the ''red'' color

- Thu Feb 03, 2011 7:00 pm #236880 to be honest polishing a car is quite a hard deal, im a bit into car detailing and the only thing i can help you is to recommend you to read some basic tutorials about polishing and detailing, cuz its really hard to damage the paint when done it wrong.

first of all, to keep that shiny-o-new look you have to use more than one gradation of polishing paste, then apply some good wax. using appropriate rev when polishing by a machine is also a very important thing, especially, when we dont want to leave more swirls than before and not to burn the paint on your car.

as far as i know, car detailing is quite popular in UK, so i think there is no problem for you to get the basic knowledge about that and get things started. look at my hatch, beside it has a new paint i try to keep it as clean as possible using some detailing stuff. as a proof, thaht i know what i am saying about.

- Sat Feb 05, 2011 10:58 pm #237225 I had some springs and shocks on my EJ2 with a 50mm drop plus the lca's had solid bushes so spent the day putting it on my new EG3 and the EG3 suspension on the EJ2... Its just a GMAX suspension set but I love it, rock hard and still good for a DD at 50mm drop

mate im hearing horrible things about swapping a good engine into my dx... im gonna need to research it loads before I do that... Im gonna do the suspension and stuff on saturday tho, just bought a trolley jack for that.

Have you seen the K20 rally EG on civiclife? its rallying at goodwood next weekend im gonna go watch, come over if your free?

didnt realise he'd finished it, not really been on there for a while.
not gonna be able to make it nxt wkend, hopefully picking up a new runaround, but wont be roadworthy til wk after.

- Tue Feb 08, 2011 10:52 pm #237603 OK, Ive decided. the engine (when I get the chance) is going to go through a bit of a transformation... Im going to swap everything across to my coupe to make the coupe a 1.3 including all interior, fuel line, interior loom, fuel tank.

then, use the interior loom, fuel tank and lines from the coupe in the DX so I can swap in my spare D16Z6 (their both OBD-1). That way I keep the coupe on the road rather than scrapping an EG, and I get all the parts from it to get the DX VTEC'ing

on the swap side of things(been researching, was thinking about swapping too) you need fuel tank, lines, pump and the vtec wiring harness, also put all the ARB's on.

thats it so far(its the wiring i dont like the idea of)
