Hello, I am new here!
I have posted my motor build and progress over at ds.o; but I've been lurking this forum for a while
Here are pics/progress/timeline of my build. I hope you enjoy!
[2.6.09]
So far I went out and bought Eagle Rods and Vitara Pistons.
When I bought the car:
[2.10.09]
Picked up a few goodies today!
[3.9.09]
Got some replica fogs mounted in!
Also picked up some HIDS
And relocated my boost gauge
[3.11.09]
[3.12.09]
"License Plate Tilt"
[3.26.09]
Got some JDM fenders w/ sidemarkers installed. Also the front mud guards are installed. Still need hardware stuff to put the rears on.
Camera pics:
[6.2.09]
Ok. So I went to RedZone to get my NEW turbo setup installed (Spoolin' Performance log manifold, 2.5" downpipe, dump tube).
We ran into a little trouble getting my old Turbonetics Delta wastegate on. So I had to buy a new one. So I ended up getting a TiAL .6 bar wastegate.
Sorry for the crappy pictures, this is from my phone.
[6.15.09]
Cleaned the rims
[11.5.09]
I figure I'd update this
Been a little busy here and there.

And my long term D15B build up
[12.3.09]
Finally got my block back from the machine shop.
-
[12.8.09]
I decided to spend a little money and tune my current motor.
It runs A LOT better. Perfect A/Fs in idle, and cruise.
Setup:
Bone Stock D16Z6 w/ 230k miles. Leaking oil everywhere.
Spoolin' Performance Log Manifold
Spoolin' Performance 2.5" DP
RedZone Built 2.5" exhaust
Tial 38mm WG w/ .6bar spring
Garrett 50 Trim
Tuner Toys 550cc Injectors
197 whp/170 tq
[12.21.09]
Got the Gasket Kit in the mail today! Ordered from FJ Distributors.
ARP Studs
[12.26.09]
One step closer!!
Got the pistons/rods installed and bolts torqued TO SPEC!
Enjoy!

-
Pretty close! I decided not to notch the girdle.
[1.4.10]
Decided to work on a little bit of the suspension.
Still ordering motor parts. But just small stuff.
Godspeed SS coilovers (they look really good btw.) and Blox LCAs.
[1.14.10]
I figured since I have their coilover setup, why not get more suspension stuff from them.
[2.8.10]
I traded the old Rota MSRs for some clean white Rota Slipstreams.
I also picked up a fresh d16z6 head from the machine shop.
Rebuilt to OEM spec from APM in Morgan Hill
Just got my brand new Gates water pump today!! :greenmunch)
[2.10.10]
I picked up a 95 Civic LX 4 door arm rest.
It looked like this when I first got it:
Ugly, and tan/brown!
Decided to use ultra flat black with Fusion for plastic (I should have used flat black or semi-gloss but w/e)
End result:
[2.16.10]
I went to Home Depot the other day and grabbed four 2" knock out plugs and sprayed them flat black. They fit perfect where the center caps USED to be.
I also grabbed some black lug nuts from ebay.
[3.22.10]
I finished up the long block and repainted it. I also got new hardware for the motor.
Money shots!
[4.2.10]
Picked up a Blox intake manifold.
Cleaned it up and painted it. Looks real clean $$
Also painted my vented valve cover.
-Got the motor done.
-Car is sitting about 4feet high on jack stands.
-Wire harness tuck in the works.
[4.9.10]
Rebuilt p20 tranny
Getting Closer!
[4.13.10]
Finally ripped out my old motor and tranny.
Here is how I did it without a hoist.
And the NEW Monster Energy Drink w/ NOS!!
[5.10.10]
Things Done:
-Sold old motor
-Finished my engine harness tuck
-Finished passanger side harness tuck
-Ordered a few new parts ;-)
Here are pics of some of the new stuff
Aluminum Radiator w/ D-series coolant hose ends
Local guy did this catch can for me. Bigger than the b&r can and half the price.
[5.14.10]
Here is my "DO WORK!" update!
Pics speak for themselves! Enjoy!
Pt. 1
pt. 2
Here is a pic of one of the turbos I was going to use:
I decided not to use it. So I sold it.
I just got these Blox gauges in last night. I called Blox and they were back ordered on the Boost gauge till the end of next month!!! I called RedZone Performance, Spoolin Performance, DNR, CTR, N1Concepts, WekSos, and no one had it in stock. This mofo was hard to find.. I bought it for $60 from someone on H-T.
I think this looks pretty sex!
So yesterday I got the dashboard and stuff back in the car. I also hooked up the Go-Autoworks vacuum manifold, and installed the sending unit for my oil pressure gauge. Lots of other work done in the middle.
I snapped a pic of the gauges. This was during the test phase.
I'll snap more pics today.
The battery is just temporary so that I can have the car rolling because I'm moving at the end of June
Turbo for those who asked
here are some pics from this weekends work
Ok so I fixed the cam gear issue by replacing it with another cam gear
I then tried to drive it and noticed a huge coolant leak after putting load on the car.
So I traced where the coolant was coming from after leaving the car parked overnight and here it was the Waterneck o-rings that were bad.
Luckily my local Honda parts store had 2 of them in stock so I went ahead and replaced them :bigok:
So no leaks. I still need a new dizzy; but I am broke already this month (bills, rent, etc..)
Hmm updates:
Car kept overheating after I took out the thermostat. So I was leaking coolant somewhere.. couldnt find a leak in the bay so I checked and here I had about 1.5gallons of water/coolant in my car!!
So instead of replacing the hose on the heater core that was busted I just ripped the whole thing out (Ill put it back in during the fall).
So the car runs fine now. It has 170miles on the motor. I still need a new dizzy (CEL 9).
It's just sitting in the garage and comes out every now and again. I have a tranny leak somewhere? So I put hondabond on the tranny case to see if there would be oil on it when I check today.
It may be my axle seal needs to be replaced. We'll see.
I must have changed the motor oil 3 times already lol. One at 25miles, then at 100miles, and recently at 175miles.
I recycled the oil into my "dd for now" which is a Plymouth Acclaim (POS!)
Ok I got better exhaust sounds clips for you guys.
It's 2.5" downpipe w/ Twister muffler in the middle and Dynoflow muffler out the back. No cat, no reso.

Also vid of the motor running :bigok:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnnyqSm-vis
Next video will be of the dyno session ;)
So I've never done a wire tuck before. This is my 1st harness. Ill eventually redo it or make a new one with a spare harness.
I ended up cutting a hole in the firewall. I didnt do it the "correct" way; but the harness wasnt long enough to go underneath. So I cut next to the heater core hoses.
Nonetheless the car runs and the harness works lol
----------
Car made 230/190 at 13psi
Ignition started cutting out after 5k rpm cause my bad dizzy.
So I need a new one.
YouTube - turbo d15b dyno session 1
Dyno Plot: Dynojet

-----------
So this brings me to present day.
Still need to swap in the new trans and then re-tune.
My goal is 300whp on 91 pump gas.
I tried to save all of my build/progress for 1 page. I personally dont like going through 30+ pages of builds lol.
