Post YOUR Hatchback here

#217575 so recently purchased this car 2 months ago and used it for a work beater. i put about 6000km on it in 2 months and it has held up amazing with little to no problems. right now i'm done work and back at school and really looking towards building a nice clean ride. So far my rear wheel bearing is shot but that's being replaced by a friend who gave me the rear assembly off of his eg. i'm replacing the front assembly with the assembly off of a gsr. also when i release the clutch while in gear i hear a scraping noise like "SHHHHHHHHHHHHKKK" i think it's my release bearing but any other input would be great if you guys can help me out. i don't think the clutch is slipping, it goes into gear fine and there are no high revs its just when i release the clutch right before the clutch point it makes that sound. can't really explain it well online.

Also there are a little rust and body work to be done as well as some interior roof saggage

i also have a brand new clutch that i got for free same with the gsr front and the eg rear assembly

i'm not very mechanically oriented and would really like to learn how to work on my car and make it a decent fun car to keep for a while. any input on inexpensive little things that could add up in the end would be great. please help. remember i'm a full time uni student and need this car to last me so my budget isn't the greatest

#217579 Are you looking into performance or looks?
By straight puncher
#217581 i'm looking for a little bit of both, honestly i don't have the money to drop in a b16 or 18, so i have to work with the stock d15 i've got for now, like i said i just want to build a ride that's fun and enjoyable to work on on the weekends, i'd love to squeeze whatever i can get out of it until i graduate and actually have money to invest full time in the car, right now i'm just starting out bit by bit and learning along the way

#217594 for the gear sounds, try to change your tranny fluid. It could be your gears in your tranny going bad.

#217808 Well I mean you wont ever get a major increase in power from bolts on a d15 so if anything just do looks. Type-R front lip, Carbon Fiber hood, amber lights, back tow hook, Duckbill Spoiler, some JDM stickers and it will look clean. :thumb:

In the end though its all up to you and your personal preferance.

#217833 If you want to make the car better, stick with looks and suspension. Dont waste your time on the motor. Keep it stock and in good shape for the best mpg you can get.

#217870 to fix the sagging roof spray carpet adhesive behind it and it will stick back where its meant to go.

On the Transmission issue does it always make that noise? have you put different tranny fluid in it yet?

eBay Coils(any generic one on ebay for around 50 shipped) will let you lower your car as far as you want. The ride wont be as good as if you got better quality suspension, However your on a college students budget.
I would go as low so the fender lip is right over the edge of the tire,I would also recommend getting another 2 Rota GT3's for the Front.

a Spoon style Mirror and Duckbill (can also be had for cheap off ebay) will also improve the cars looks and aerodynamics.

Just these mods alone will make the car look and handle much better, thus making it a more fun car to drive.

#217905 for the roof lining it's not just the fabric it's the actually hard piece underneath it as well, it's a bit warped and soft from water damage on the last 4 inches or so...what do i need to do to fix that?
