I figure creating a build thread for my 1991 eg4 civic will not only be a good way of logging my progress of any modifications/alterations done so far, but also a great means of seeking advice or feedback on any issues. I will showcase what I have done over the past year, although there are a lot of photo's i should of taken but didn't. It has been great to learn a thing or two and to have gotten some great enjoyment out of what i have managed to do so far. I have been looking around on this site for over two years now and have managed to find some great inspiration and have gained a lot of useful knowledge from the community. So i hope you like the car.
Description of the car when i got it:
1991 eg4 Civic VTI
96 spec Integra Type R conversion (engine/gearbox/suspension/brakes/rims)
Pod filter, TRR (damaged) exhaust manifold, ek9 full exhaust.
282mm front brake setup. Braided brake and clutch lines.
ITR Master cylinder and Proportioning valve
ITR sway bars front and rear, ek9 twin core radiator.
The car had near all the bushings replaced when i got it, with the exception of the rear trailing arm bushes, which i replaced shortly after i got it.
The main mods i have done to date include:
Interior
Full black EG6 SIR-S Interior swap
EG6 Manual Cluster
DC2 ITR Black SR3 Recaro Seats
DC2 ITR Steering Wheel
DC2 ITR Floor Mats
Mugen Pedals
Sony Stereo and Gathers Dual Pod Rear Speaker Setup
A/C Removed
Exterior
HID Retrofit Headlights (thanks for the help s3eg6)
EG6 Wing
15" Desmond Regamaster Evo Wheels
Spoon blue wheel nuts
Mugen Front Lip
Spoon Style Mirrors
Engine
Blox Velocity Stack/ Simota 3" SRI
Buddyclub Pro Spec Exhaust
HKS Exhaust Manifold
Handling
Cusco Zero II Coilovers
Goodyear Eagle F1 Tyres
DC2 ITR Front and Rear sway bars
Below is a picture commentary to show developments since made.
When i first got the car
First thing was a quick respray of the bonnet, guards, bumper and right side.
Then the interior
New HKS Manifold
HID Retrofit (Have since blacked out out the bottom of the reflector housing)
The car as it stands
I've since taken off that tow bar, and installed a Buddyclub Pro Spec Exhaust
My main goal with this car was to create something that looks nice and tidy, as well as something to take to the race track for a play every now and then. It has been fun showing up to the track in this over the past year, each time with something new on the car and you can certainly feel the difference.
Next thing in the list is to get the car tuned, then possibly down the road do some work on the internals, and tidy up the engine bay a bit, a full respray at some stage would be nice too.
