Hello, all! I know, it's been a looooong time since you've seen me, but I'm back and of course, I have a new project!
ABOUT THE BUILD & THE INSPIRATION BEHIND IT:
I went with the white/purple scheme on this car in memory of my deceased young cousin Brooke Snyder. She passed away in December of 2011 due to a brain tumor. Her favorite color was purple, which explains the bits of purple seen on this car. The purpose behind this build is to build a SOHC powered car that is track capable and able to win race purses for charity to donate to all of the St. Jude's Children's Hospitals in the United States. We are working on a fundraising project called "The Race For The Cure". I have a small team of dedicated individuals that are helping move the project along by volunteering their time to drop by my place and assist me in working on the car. We have given the team the name "Boonie Built". Kind of cheesy and made to be funny, but it suits us. We are nothing more than some boondock boys that love to wrench and build, so that's how it came about. All and all, this car is dedicated to the loving memory of Brooke. She is what is motivating us to do this complex, huge, and expensive build, but it's a small price to pay as compared to human life. May she rest in peace.
A LITTLE BIT MORE ABOUT IT AND WHAT'S DONE SO FAR:
1994 CX with a D16Y8 swap. The Y8 is going through a full build. Currently installed are the following: Balanced & Micropolished crankshaft, ARP Rod Bolts, ARP Head Studs, ACL Race Bearings, Vitara FJT I-Beam Connecting Rods, CP Carillo 9.6-1 Comp 75mm Forged Pistons, Bisimoto Level 2 Billet Cam, Bisimoto Pro Valve Spring & Retainer Kit, NGK Blue Spark Plug Cables, Stage 2 Exedy Clutch, 10lb Flywheel, P28 ECU, and a D15B7 Distributor.
WHAT IS COMING AS THE BUILD PROGRESSES:
D15B7 750cc injectors, upgrade to Bisimoto level 3.6 turbo duty cam, Venom VHQ timing gear, Head work; Milling, porting & polishing, and 3-angle valve job, Ferrea valve kit, bore 0.20 over to 75.50mm, CP 75.50mm 8.5-1 comp forged pistons, upgrade to stage 4 clutch, DSS axles, Frank's Custom Fiberglass 3 Pce WdeBdy front end, M/H slicks on Lenso 13X7.5 4X100 rims for the front, BTX6565 TC, Bisimoto Godzilla BOV, TiAL WG, Custom Turbo-Exhaust Mani made by Moore's Automotive, Custom D16Z6 Outlaw intake manifold by Bisimoto, CCC Racing Drag Wing, Rear Diffuser, full track Tune by Moore's Automotive, Harmonic balanced crank pulley, upgrade to knife-edged crankshaft, sleeve the block using Darton sleeves, FCS Race track diaper for EG chassis, tubular subframe, Fortune Auto Fortune 500 Coilovers, Racing Aluminum Fuel Cell, Walbro 400lph fuel pump, AEM Fuel Rail, AEM Water - Meth injection kit, AEM EMS, and a Gear Box rebuild.
We are unsure of what numbers will be put down in the end, but we are hoping for and building for a 650+ BHP car. If we get 650 BHP, I'll be more than happy and we hope to be in the mid - high 9s 1/4 mile bracket.
Here are some pics of the progress so far!
Let me know what you all think and I hope everyone can respect the build, as it isn't being done for just myself, but my little cousin who is now an angel in heaven. Hope you guys like what you see so far and stay tuned, as there is plenty more to come! Thanks!
