Engine bay is a little, um... Yeah. :lol:

That crusty shit on the valve cover just flakes right off so once I get it on the road I'm taking it to work to clean it up.

I picked this thing up for a grand a week ago. That white 1991 DX in the background is what I used to drive. I sold it for $1700. That's $700 of pure profit that could potentially be put into this Si. :twisted:

Unfortunately, weather is shit here in Yellowknife and I don't have a garage, let alone a heated one.

All I have planned before winter sets in, which will be very soon, is a short throw shifter to make it a little more fun to drive. I also need to do a compression test to see if it's worth throwing some money into this thing. It pulls nice, though.

#70773 The shifter is a cheapo Fidanza dual bend. $20-$25. It has a good reputation though. I'm not getting some $200 B&M or Skunk2 shifter, haha. Seems like a ludicrous amount of money to spend on something that, in the long run, really doesn't do a hell of a lot for performance.

This thing was in Ontario up until about May, so it's not bad for rust considering it's plowed through tons of slush and salt. Just a little bit around the edges. We don't salt the roads up here and it's really dry, humidity-wise. (EDIT: As an example, that DX lived up here all it's life and there wasn't a spot of rust on it. The thing was clean as hell. That's how I got so much for it.) Not too concerned about it getting much worse. Nothing remotely structural, it's just some edges of the bodywork.

The clearcoat is peeling in a couple spots on the hood. :shock:

Interior is nice and clean though. Slight dog smell. :lol:

#70775 but my b&m dual bend shifter was 50$... for such a tiny upgrade on a car... its probably one of the most worthwhile upgrades i've done yet :thumb: .... congratz on the hatch!... DIE RUST!!!

#70908 First priority is a compression test to see if anything needs to be done. I don't know how well you can see from the interior pic, but it has 346,000km on the odo. Hopefully tomorrow won't be so shitty/cold/rainy and I can take care of that. If I still haven't done it by the middle of the week, I'll suck it up and do it in the crappy weather. :thumb:

EDIT: OH YEAH, now I remember why I was holding off. I have plugs that'll be here Monday.

Well for the last year it was owned by a mechanic at the dealership I work for. He drove it up and started working here in June. Since I don't have a garage he said we can take it into one of the bays on a day off if it needs work. Hoists and air tools sure make some things a breeze
