Turbo and Supercharger discussion

#203803 Hi all who read this, new to the EG forum, How many of you out there with turbo B series have their heaters still working? still off of the factory pipes?

I have a B18c turbo, heater pipes have been used for the turbo cooling in reverse. Any way around getting the heater core to work? how much flow does a standard water pump produce?

#203833 Do you have any pics of your setup? I don't understand how or why someone would remove the heater lines to cool the turbo :?

I don't see how the two would interfere with each other.

There's plenty of boosted B series that still have heat so it's practical to do :thumb:

#204001 Instead of the heater core lines running to the firewall, they re-routed them to the turbo.

All you'd have to do is cut the hose, insert a Tee fitting, and then run a hose to the heater core. just look on stock civic to see where each hose needs to be hooked up.

the turbo itself. he has a water cooled turbo.

Exactly. Most ballbearing turbos are also watercooled.

#204856 Yeah its a water and oil cooled turbo, its on a low mount set of custom made extrators. Ill take some photos of it this weekend.

I was told to tee into the actual radiator hose side of things, i just dont want to put more strain on the water pump or slow the turbo's flow of water incase it becomes a stale flow.

Where is the heater heat seclector slider thingy controling? the last thing i want is the heater core hot all the time, Its winter down here in NZ atm, but not in another few months.
