im refurring to a y5 head in this case....i will not be using a z1 head...

If you want to use a whole d15z1, And putting in LS Rods and reusing the Stock VX(d15z1) Pistons will get a good solid base. LS Rods are good to 300 HP. A Good Cheap rod to go with.
The D15z1 has the same stroke as a d16, 137mm. Giving the best torque of the D15's, Which in a Turbo Honda is always a good thing.
The Head I am not sure how well it handle boost. The VTEC-E Head will help give low end torque. Probably a better handle then a NON-VTEC Heads. You wont have any good source of cams. There is a build on here of someone who port matched there z1 head. and I believe used a D16z6 intake manifold.
I have never thought of using a VTEC-E Head. I planned on using the afore mentioned d15z1 block and a D16z6 head. This is a build I was planning on building.
