#158722 In Europe they use calculations to get a calculated horse power at the crank.

#158729 might be a stupid question, but why does the torque drop so rapidly after 4500?

Boost might spike and fall off.

My car had this problem with an ebay MBC:

That's the torque vs boost graph, you can see the torque pretty much follows the (terrible) boost curve almost exactly. As soon as I saw this I went out and got a turbosmart MBC and now it holds steady at around 12 psi. And it's a lot more fun to drive now. :thumb:

#158764 oh alright, makes sense now.
thanks! :thumb:

#159189 What?: D16Z6 with Vitaras/FJ custom Rods @ 12psi (t3/t4):
Results: 234whp and 212wtq
Dyno Movie: http://people.oregonstate.edu/~eubanjam/Honda/MOV00303.AVI
Dyno Sheet:

here is mine: it's whp/wtq vs. engine speed (rpm)
i have a very solid torque curve and it's pushing about ~12 psi to the manifold with a 0.9bar wastegate spring (NO MBC or EBC)

very fun to drive :thumb:

#159634 blacksilo....... who tunes your car or where did you get it tunned? i have a buddy that was running a BONE STOCK y7 only running ten psi and made the same numbers like the exact same numbers....he tunes his own stuff though but obviously he knows well too...i know that thing can make better numbers with vitaras

hey man, i got my car tuned in Portland, Oregon at a place called VIP performance. i have an e-bay 44 trim t3/t4 turbo so i'm running a 13 pound spring and with about 1-2psi drop the map sensor reads a little over 11psi to the manifold.
i built the engine with vitaras to eventually get over 300whp, the ONLY thing that is holding me back right now is my dsm 450 injectors. i'm sitting at this HP level because in full boost at 11.0:1 AFR the injectors are hitting 100% duty cycle. i know that most 450s can handle more power, i think something mechanically is wrong with them as i bought them used and didn't have them flow checked or anything.

so i have a stock head, stock HG, IM, TB and a cast mani...not good for really high rpm's, but i'm going to be getting some ~780cc injectors probably next year some time and shoot for ~330whp.

i'm just doing it in steps i guess...this is my first turbo car so i'm still learning alot. you can check out my build thread for more info :thumb: but thanks man....any suggestion on where to get tuned in portland/salem/eugene area?

#159686 yeah i wasnt tryin to dogg on ya or anyhting i was just curious....he is one of the best tunners ive ever seen in my life...i stand by his side without a doubt in my mind my friend is the best in the area....best part is we just hang out and he doesnt have like 34563786574 people trying to get him to tune or something...but his was just a bone stock d16y7 with log mani and 50 trim turbo... he was only using 390 injectors too...just lets me know yet again how good he is...im from indiana so i dont really know where to get a good tune around there man....but keep up the good work

yeah, no problem man, i'm still thinking that something is jacked with my injectors or the fuel pressure within the rail or the seals or something....:?

that's crazy tho man, i spend a lot of time over at d-series.org and i researched shit for so long before i decided to rebuild mine..i didn't wanna push the stock rods over ~220whp as i wanted to be safe with the internals. my original goal was to be about 300whp and i think that it might be a pretty conservative tune considering i told him it was a DD and he set all the idle controls to be nice. well either way, 234whp is better than 90whp stock!

well actually after the turbo was taken off and its just a bone stock motor as the daily now we threw it on our new dyno last week just to make sure the dyno was wired up right and everything...it made 95 whp on stock everything and a stock ecu hahaha
