Basic turbo build

Here is my question. I am wanting to make 300hp with a turbo on a jdm engine. I don't want a top of the line engine like everybody else is doing. I want an engine that is good enough to take boost and not gonna rob me of cash. If you could give me some engine ideas and setups. I am gonna use it on the street only, that is why I just want 300hp.

doubt you'd see 300bhp on stock inturnals ^^^
im guessing your not going to build the engine, just keep it stock and bolt a turbo on it?
if so id aim for 250bhp from a B16a @ 7psi
any more boost than that then you'll have to build the engine!
same goes for all the honda engines really... apart from the D series, you'll prob only see about 200bhp with stock inturnals @ 7psi

Yeah stock internals. I kinda want a turbo pretty quick. I could build it later. so im looking for around 250bhp? well that would work. now i need some kits. let me have 'em!

If you have a D-series...boost it, youll love it, parts are everywhere and cheap. You will be happy with 200, that it can easily make!, then save the 300hp build untill you learn a bit more!

I don't want a D-series cuz of the high mileage. What i am planning on doing once I have my civic is doing basic suspension, brake, and exhaust work and then getting a B-series that is inexpensive.

boost the D
there better suited for boost so will last abit longer!
also, the money you save on not having to buy a B series lump you can chuck abit more into the brakes and suspension

well boost the d-series and IF blows u can still use the turbo parts and just change out the turbo manifold for a b-series... so boost the d first see how u like it... that way u will save more money too cuz ull have fun with the d-series but this is just MY OPINION

I'm not going to differ you from going with a b-series of that what you truely want but in my opinion i would do the d-series + boost. you can buy a newer jdm d-series and boost it for about the price of the b-series motor alone

Why do you want a JDM engine?
It only has a few minor differences with a USDM/UKDM/EDM engine, wich IMO will be lost when you're doing anything to it (n/a or f/i).
It costs a bit more, so you pay more for the fact it's JDM, not because it has great benefits over a EDM for example.
I have no experience with H22A or K20A engines, so what I just posted goes only for JDM B- and D-series ;)
IMO, boosting a D-series can be fun.
But since these engines are poorly build when compared to the much stronger B-series (wich can easily do around 300hp on stock internals, proven many times here in Holland), I'd skip the D and go with the B.
I've seen so many Dutch D-series on low boost, almost all of them had some engine-related problems wich cost them another engine and a day of work, these guys where nice to their engines, no abbuse when cold and everything.
I've never seen a Dutch guy with a blown B-series on low boost, even when beating the shit out of it (more problems with the turbo because of beating it when cold).
More specific;
Go with a B16A2, wich are cheap and widely available.
Put it in, boost it around 10psi and have a real laugh.
Search for Sneaky Tuning on youtube or something...
CRX, B16A1, boosted, around 22 or 24psi, stock internals.
Going strong for over more than a year now, including a lot of dragracing.

I might go with the boosted B16A2. But i dunno yet. I need to do more researching.
