#187748 im looking for a turbo that will spool @3-3500revs(so it doesnt spool while normal speed limit driving :D) also only looking for 200-220bhp

any suggestions on what turbo
t3/t4 also heard one of a volvo will fit but which one an what volvo

gonna be using it on track days aswell, but not so much drag

oh yeah on a D16z6, cheers

#187771 The volvo turbos are tiny, they will spool really quickly ... probably hit full boost by 3.5k. If you are only looking for 200 - 220 one of those would be great and would give you a nice streetable power band. If you are looking for something that will spool later you'll want to look at some of the larger frame turbos ... like the T3/T4 you were thinking of or a T3 super 60 or something like that.

#187843 yeah T3 super 60's seem to be quite popular, just wasnt sure where abouts they spool up.
ive built up a list of things i need to get, can anyone tell me if i need anything else:
cast manifold
BOV(any suggestions other that tial-they quite expensive)
wastegate(an dumptube)
ARP head bolts
T3/T4 charger(50mm i think)
450 injectors
downpipe
oil feed & oil return lines
charging pipe 2-2.5
fuel management( AEM fuel rail, waboro fuel pump-255?)
F/M intercooler
mapping(most important)
metal head gasket?????
port an polish?????
2.5 exhaust
obviously couplers an hose clamps.

then theres the gauges:
electronic boost control
boost gauge
exhaust gas temp gauge
oil temp an oil pressure gauge

was thinking about getting an ebay kit for all the lines an tubing an such

BOV(any suggestions other that tial-they quite expensive) There are tial knock offs, or you could get and apexi, or sard.
wastegate(an dumptube) Again knock off wastegates are available. From what I've heard they work fine. Dump tubes can be fabbed for not too much money.
ARP head bolts Good man.
T3/T4 charger(50mm i think) Look at the super 60.
450 injectors
downpipe
oil feed & oil return lines Stealthmode all the way.
charging pipe 2-2.5
fuel management( AEM fuel rail, waboro fuel pump-255?) Yes you want the 255, fuel rail isn't necessary for that power level.
F/M intercooler
mapping(most important) Tuning yourself, or having someone else tune it? If you have having someone else tune it have it chipped with the tuning software they are best/most comfortable using.
metal head gasket????? OEM is fine
port an polish????? Not necessary for power level you are looking at.
2.5 exhaust Perfect, should be good for 250+ whp, around 300ish you want to step up to 3".
obviously couplers an hose clamps.

electronic boost control
boost gauge
exhaust gas temp gauge
oil temp an oil pressure gauge

Look at go-autoworks.com for your turbo needs as well they sell some very nice ... very complete kits for not a whole lot of cash. Or you can just get the pieces you need. Awesome guy to deal with, amazing customer service and really great quality work.

ive built up a list of things i need to get, can anyone tell me if i need anything else:
cast manifold - Can be bought for $100 on ebay and you don't have to worry about them cracking.
BOV(any suggestions other that tial-they quite expensive) - I like my knockoff HKS
wastegate(an dumptube)
ARP head bolts- a must
T3/T4 charger(50mm i think)
450 injectors - don't forget a resistor box if you're getting DSM's
downpipe
oil feed & oil return lines - Don't forget an oil restrictor for the turbo you choose
charging pipe 2-2.5 - Look for a kit on ebay with bead rolled ends and T clamps - a little more $ but worth it
fuel management( AEM fuel rail, waboro fuel pump-255?) - 255 LPH is good, fuel gauge is helpful for tuning, AEM fuel rail might have a fitting for one?
F/M intercooler
mapping(most important)
metal head gasket????? - OEM
port an polish?????
2.5 exhaust
obviously couplers an hose clamps.

may want to consider a wideband o2 if you have the funds

I've got a T3 .60/.48 "svo" that I upgraded the turbine from to a stage 1 from a super 60.
A T3 will give you the range you are looking for. Driving 70 mph (about 3000 rpm) I am not in boost and still get great MPG, 31.something on my last fill up (92 octane)
It's ready to spool though, downshift into 4th and the turbo will be screaming in a second. 3500 is where it begins to build boost.
I do a lot of highway driving.
Ripping around town was the lowest MPG I got which was 28.

In that case ask your tuner what he prefers to tune with (Hondata, Chrom, Neptune, etc.) and use that.
