D15b Vtec Wanting Turbo

I have a 94 civic dx with a d15b vtec motor. I'm just planning on 5 or 6 psi on my stock motor. Is that okay. If something happens to the motor I'll replace it with a d16z6. The turbo should still fit. I'm getting new injectors and fuel pump and am running a virgin p28 ecu that i plan to get chipped and tuned.

5 or 6psi should be just fine.

You ever consider a Jackson Racing blower instead of a turbo?

Aren't they alot more expensive. Plus I was told that a turbo is more like free power as a supercharger borrows from power.

Jackson Racing doesn't make setups for single cams anymore so you would have to find a used one on craigslist or something. but you can usually find one for under a grand and if you keep the boost under five pounds you don't have to upgrade anything else on your car or even have it tuned

im running a jrsc on a d15b vtec on 8 psi....... AND I LOVE IT. the immediate boost is so much fun. sure you dnt have the high horsepower gains as a turbo but u have the reliability and dependability as a stock motor with no lag....... do it.

for a d15 i'd say supercharger just because the rods arent as thick as the z6 rods. so a stock block wouldnt do much better with a turbo anyways..

or you could pull the d15 right now for a back up motor incase you blow the z6.

also psi isnt relevant to the life of a motor. 6 psi with a gt30 would explode but 6 psi with a kkk wouldn't give you anything. (exageration for point of emphasis) motors break depending on horsepower not boost levels.

not wht i was sayin. its the setup if a supercharger that gives it its reliability. not the psi. :thumb:

jdm d15b vtec has d16 rods.
stock d16 bottom ends can take 220+hp.
if you want bigger numbers, vitara builds can take more than double that.
