Is this possible??

- Thu Aug 19, 2010 5:57 am #209570 Well since im swapping things from my old hatch onto my new project well i would like to get the si exhaust i have on it and swap over the enviromentally small cx exhaust.....now this proves a tad difficult 1 because as of right now i do not have a spare header and two i really dont have much to get a new header i dont wish to get a header anyhow as im going turbo so heres my couple questions

shortly i will be receiveing a Turbo manifold now i took apart my turbo and i was wondering if i capped one end of the turbo exhaust housing and made a down pipe etc....would this work for the time being i know it may not help with power but im looking for an easy solution that will in turn allow me to progress in my project as well as get my other hatch out of the yard.....

Also question for mufflers
well i got a sport bike muffler and well its light as hell and smaller than the stocker that sits underneath my cx so i am wondering if this might be a possible muffler for my car my buddy has run something similar on his miata so who know

so yea if anyone could cue in on this id really appreciate it

Not sure what you mean by "one end of the turbo exhaust housing" maybe seeing a pic of the manifold will help me picture your setup. So you have just the hot side of the housing bolted to the manifold and you want to fab something to cover the round side where the thrbo bolts to? If that's easuer/faster than buying a used oem header for $20, go for it!

Not exactly sure how that will sound.... I wanna say it was D15kid who had a bike muffler on one of his old civics back in the day. Not sure if performance is hurt :?

as for the bike muffler :lol: dont do it. that just screams ricer or redneck ( no offense) but how ghetto man just wait and save for a real one :thumb:

all my junkyard has is manifolds that are cut before the downpipe flange and crushed due to the idiot retards taking the cats off.....so it wouldnt be very benificial.....but i figured im gonna wait and just refresh my 8v for winter and drive that while i build

and the bike muffler actually to be honest i dont think that screams redneck or ricer nor ghetto as its actually i decent idea as bike mufflers are a heck of alot lighter than that of car mufflers dont know about the sounds but yea its decent but im still not sure what im going to do.....
