#232540 I don't think u do...Y would u boost a type r motor??? That's stupid... its a hand bulit motor made for n/a... I wouldn't do it...

But if u insist i believe a t3/t4 would do it... :thumb:

Sure you could ... high compression and a good turbo cam. Oh yeah ... and revving to the moon.


It all depends on what you want to use the engine for a smaller (properly sized) turbo will get you a nice smooth power band and good power delivery all the way to red line. If you want more peak power (and consequently a peakier power band) step the turbo size up a bit. Or if peak power isn't what you want and you don't plan on revving the piss out of the car all the time, consider a small frame turbo for gobs of low end torque, it will run out of breath and actually choke off your power up top, but it will be a shit ton of fun on the street.

For a type-R motor I would personally use a bigger T3 or a T3/T4 beacuse I like my turbo response ... full boost by 3.5K (ish) is a kick in the pants and all sorts of fun even if you aren't making big numbers (although you can with T3). High comp + turbo = win.

A Type R engine? Not being rude, but those engines are hand assembled, it's kind of insulting if you turbo it

ok, there is no such thing as a GSR type r, they're two different engines..

USDM GSR= B18C1
USDM Type R= B18C5
JDM GSR=B18C and has the 'upside down' intake mani
JDM Type R= B18C and has red valve cover, chrome cap, B16 style intake mani


and yes, with proper tuning a boosted type r is downright nasty :thumb:
