#41242 Narrowband AFR gauges suck by the way

Because the narrowband O² sensor doesn't give a constant signal, but more like pulses, the needle jumps up and down :(
I hope ProSport has these gauges for wideband lambda's, and I'm gonna get one of those in the future...

All the rest is working by the way :thumb:

Now to get a few amber-red bulbs for the stock gauge cluster and clim.ctrl. unit, and make my clock an amber one :)

The last two big things to be done on the car;
Also, I've got some rust on the rear wheel arches, I'm planning to have new pieces welded in and have the rear panels repainted, all this by pro's who know wtf they're doing (better pay 800 euro's once, then 1,000 in three or four times) by the end of next month.

So no respray yet :(

And when that's done, I'll boost 'the crap out of it', and have it fully repainted after that.

#42532 Because my Mugen twinloop knock-off muffler is so huge, I decided o paint the biggest portion of it in matte black.
Only the muffler itself, not the tip nor the recirculating and ingoing pipes, and I like the result :)

And I also changed the oil, installed the sandwich ring with sensors and the new HAMP oil filter.
Oil temp. and press. gauges work fine, and I checked the oil a couple of times, as far as I can see, it doesn't leak (yet), let's hope it stays that way.

And yesterday night when driving home from work, I took on some speed (well over 160kph/100mph), and the engine started to run odd, and the interior filled with a sharp tasting smoke... along side the road, it sounded like a boxer motor.
No CEL, oil level was all right, coolant was still there, normal oil press. and temp., normal water temp.

So today I found out one of the spark plugs wasn't working anymore by pulling out spark plug wires one at the time.

After taking them out, the not-working one was intact but all wet, so was the piston.
After taking out one of the other spark plug wires again, I pulled it to pieces... so I still don't know if it'll run with the new spark plug :(
My point of advice; do NOT buy cheap after market wires.

Let's hope it wasn't anything other then a spark plug that just died on me (3 or 4 months old NGK BKR6E11)

#42749 Why not to buy cheap spark plug wires:
This could happen when you pull it out...

Using a pair of pliers, I got the clip back on to the wire itself, and used a bit of silicone kit to keep out water... still have to go try it out, and hope the replaced spark plug is all I needed :(

#42754 ngk = oem for the best oem reliability.

oh yea..do tell me where you can get that red film. I used trasnlucent film (turned pink instead :X)

thats the only thing shy of my interior color being red. hahaha

hope things go well with your car.

#42763 Red film?
Were do you see red film :?

About my troubles;

I tried starting the car... the fixed spark plug wire is working again (for now), but cylinder #3 is still not working.
I swapped the injectors for cylinders three and four, still it's number three that's not working.
I put a ratchet socket extension on each of the injectors, and they all tick the same, so it's not a dead injector that just stays open all the time...

I saw a few sparks when I pulled of the wire for cylinder 3, so it should receive a spark :(
Coolant level is still good, so is the oil level...
With the engine running and revving it just a little, after a couple of seconds a light grey smoke comes out of the hoses from the black box on the rear of the block, and also from the valve cover, smells like unburnt gas... some serious blow by I guess.

So today Gerben (FastFWD) from Honderdelen is coming over with another ignition, another set of injectors, another set of spark plug wires, and I hope one of those is the reason of all this b/s...

I'll keep you guys posted.

#42777 It's 95% official... the B16 died at high speed right there on the highway.
At about 80-90psi oil pressure and 84°C oil temperature, it prob. burned right through the piston in cylinder number 3.

It's not 100% sure, but it's getting fuel, it's getting a nice strong (blue-purple) spark, it is also pulsating pressure into the bottom part of the engine; when you pull out the dipstick, it's like a steam engine; puf-puf-puf-puf, those who have been there prob. remember what it's like :(

Next month there is a B16A2 longblock available, but I don't wanna wait another month, but I have no choice.

I f*cking HATE this shit!!!

Now I'm not only going to have to spend big bucks (euro's) on the rotten rear panels and wheel arches... the engine gave way as well.
Fucking cars...

#42788 OH NOES!!! That sucks man, is the block itself screwed? if not i'd suggest building it up 8)

But i understand what you mean by needing to get a new motor

i was referring to that film thing.

Ah, yeah that's an option as well, doing that :)
But my clock is white now, so didn't I fully understand your first post, or did you see something I missed :P

We haven't lifted the head or anything, but no, a rebuild is no option.
I earn a lot of money for a student, but I still am but a student.
So I need the little money I can get from selling the bad engine, to get another one and have the rust fixed.

#42794 i might have mistaken you DOING that instead of planning to haha. let me know if you find the film. I been having a hard time finding it.
