#348748 Small update:

I have a buyer for the swap, so today after work I got it ready to pull. The only thing left is the motor mount bolts. Unfortunately it started to rain, so I put everything away. And then it stopped lol. I'll pull it tomorrow or Friday.

Although the b18 is coming out, my progress will probably be slow on swapping in the k20a2. With the rain coming it's going to be difficult to get much done until I get some cover. Also, with my wife running for county commissioner, those "free" days become busy days without notice.

But I guess it's the beginning....

Not really. I'm just trying to get as much as I can done before the rain comes. Unfortunately, I won't get anything done today. I did source a crank pulley this morning though.

Yeah it did actually. Here's it's new home:

Tomorrow's goals are to have the passenger mount removed and the k series mounts installed, relocate the radiator to the drivers side and getting the ecu and conversion harness installed/routed.

#348797 I got most of my goals accomplished today.

Old frame mount removed, k series mount installed. Rear mount installed too. Old condenser mounts removed, new radiator mounts installed and radiator relocated to the drivers side. Most likely won't leave the overflow bottle there, but atleast it's mounted lol. I'll address where the old mount was before I drop the k20 in. As well as cleaning up the radiator and shroud. I also still need to extend the fan wires. No big there.

I really wanted to get the conversion harness routed/installed today, and I did start on it. But it got so hot, I couldn't take it any more lol. I'll be removing the a/c unit too so I can pass the wiring through easier. I haven't had a/c in the car since I've owned it, so I really don't see the point in keeping it in there. Atleast I understand what I need to do now and where everything plugs in.

It's progress......

#348798 Any progress is good progress lol Are you gonna run that rad or upgrade? Will it cool that engine? I haven't read much on K swaps so I'm not too sure what all goes into it..

I'm keeping this radiator for now. It should be fine for a stock motor.

#348802 Went back out after it cooled down and got the k-tuned conversion harness routed and plugged in.

No pics because it's not all that exciting lol.

#348822 Engine harness in. Conversion harness in. Plugged in to ecu, but still need to wire in 9 wires or so, including the ecu immobilizer bypass. Not final install obviously lol. Image Image

#348834 All ecu wiring done, including the immobilizer bypass. All plugged in and installed. The 2 wires seen there are the coolant temp and fan switch. I'll wire those in when I drop the motor in.

My next step will be shifter install.

#348846 The rain has come! Oh well.

I did get the charge harness altered to work in the eg today. So that's one more thing off the "to do" list.
