- Fri Aug 07, 2009 6:32 am #136385 Car is sitting in my uncles shop waiting for me to get a chance to poke at it. I am moving and have two functional cars, My 01 Integra, and my '99 Hatch. I will get the sedan running agian. However it can wait until after moving into my new house.

- Sun Aug 09, 2009 5:22 pm #136866 Yesterday I was working on the timing on the car after welding up my mount for my EK.

I am using the D15b7 Distributor and cant get the timing close enough. I read on line that you can use it but have had no luck. I am checking out Craigslist for z6 Distributors. I will get one of those and try my luck with Timing agian.

I have good compression ever since the sealed. I think its just a timing issue. I will be picking up a z6 Distributor when I find a decent deal on one. I have yet to find one for less then $150. Even used on Craigslist. I will be hitting up my contacts at Junkyards and see what I can get. Maybe I will get lucky on Craigslist soon. If not then the car will wait until the 20th.

- Mon Oct 05, 2009 6:15 am #148931 As posted here i have been having issues with no spark. I installed a new ecu and have no spark at all again. I unhooked all grounds, cleaned them as good as I could with a wirebrush and reconnected them. No Spark. All Wiring is plugged in correctly.

With nowhere left to go on getting the d16z6 running, and winter and its related bad weather quickly approaching, I am going to pull the D16z6 out and rebuild the d15b7. I have a clean d15b7 head i picked up from the junkyard, I have the bearings to rebuild the dx transmission.

I cant figure out whats going on with the d16z6, It has to be something in the engine, a sensor or something thats broke/malfunctioning. I ran out of ideas on it, I spent Way to much money trying to get it to work, So the swap is leaving.

I hope to be Daily driving my sedan again before November.

- Tue Oct 06, 2009 9:27 pm #149168 try checking for the distributor....pull out one of the hi tension wires from the spark plugs insert a screw driver in the hi tension wire and let it sit near a metal then crank it quickly if you see no sparks could be the distributor...you need to change the ignition coil located inside the distributor cap :thumb:

- Thu Oct 08, 2009 6:26 pm #149673 wow man, i just read through that trouble shooting post and this one....that's lame that the z6 won't run, do you think it's something mechanical and not electrical since you have pretty much swapped out everything? it could be a chassis ground/short to an important wire but tracking that down would almost be impossible.

i take it your just over the z6 then? ... i definitely know what you mean :thumbdown:

I am over the z6. I have been fighting with it the past 2-3 months. I am tired of working on it. I want a Single cam Vtec, but I need a Daily Driver for this Winter.I dont have time to work on the z6 anymore. I don't want to be driving hatch in our very shitty winter weather.

I will be working with my dad to get that d15b7 put together and installed. Hopefully before November.
