#236095 Sorry for bumping this old thread but it has pictures that I lost :)

I finally got funds and rides enough to get my rust fixed. :woot: :woot:

A girl I go to school with, her dad, for $700, replaced both quarter panels, rust on all four doors replaced, bumper fixed, and all that plus the roof and trunk was repainted the OEM color. :thumb:

Here we go:

looks good man. ^^this is on my "to do" list as well...

Thanks :thumb:

Where do you guys think I should go from here? Should I do some power mods or lower it? All opinions welcome, budget is a little less restrictive now :woot: :woot: goal is track/daily

#241150 Long time no posts lol.

So my piston slap has been getting progressively worse since I bought the car. I have a few ideas I'd like to bounce off you guys.

1. Rebuild the engine. This may be cheaper but as you guys know takes time to do properly and involves removing the engine. I don't have another car to drive so this may not be possible.

2. Partially rebuild the engine, i.e. head and piston rings? Basically this means replacing anything I can in the engine without removing it from the car. I have no idea how hard this is. Maybe it's a dumb idea :? Maybe just replace the parts to make the slap go away and call it a day.

3. Buying a new D, and getting it back to OEM or better quality and swapping it in This way I can still drive my car, that is the biggest pro here. I was also considering, if I could afford it, finding a B18c5 or something, anything but a B16A. The only problem would be changing the transmission and anything else I would need. I obviously would do research beforehand but still.

All opinions or different options are greatly appreciated. This needs to happen this summer, for I fear it may not make it :(
