1. Removed trim and emblems
2. Removed broken windshield
3. Bought a parts car in excellent condition
4. Put rims on civic
5. Engine maintenance
6. Started sanding

What color should I paint my civic? Preferably not a stock color.

As for a nice vibrant color, Why not imola Orange off the NSX and s2000?

It will go well with the coloring of your rims.
