#323228 so as some may have read on my other thread i am selling/parting out the EK i bought and the B18B1motor i bought for the EK is now going to go into my car because my Y8 motor has no compression in cylinder #2 and #3...my issues that i am concerned with is the motor i bought is an OBD2a motor because i originally was going to go in an OBD2 car...now it is not  ...i also have already bought the obd2a ECU my question is how do i go about making it work in my car...id like to make it easy ans simple...but also keep it cheep if possible...i know i need to buy a new engine harness if i keep the motor obd2 and get a jump harness and use my obd2 ECU ...or can i swap over my injectors from my D series??...i read somewhere that i can change injectors and some other sensors off my D series to my b18 to make the motor obd1...is this true or false?? are the injectors the same?? any help would be GREAT!!! :thumb: :thumb:

EDIT: i have a P28 in the car now...will that work with b18??

#323253 ok so i did some research and so far what i found is i can just swap my injectors im using now in my car can be swapped over when im ready to do so...i know i need to get a new dizzy for it to make it obd1 cuz im 99% positive my stock D15B7 does not work...but i have a head off of a 93 LS so i hope all the LS heads have the same bolt up pattern.

as far as other plugs and sensors im not sure what else i need...what map sensor do i use can i just use the one in my car already?? or will it not run right??...any help please...thanks in advance!! :thumb:

#323428 any body have any suggestions??i tried to do research but i keep getting to many different answers...any help at all will be greatly appreciated thanks!!

EDIT: just found this link.. http://www.ff-squad.com/technet/hybrid.92-95.obd2.htm apparently all i have to do is get an OBD2 integra engine harness and it plugs right up to the shock towersand it will plug into my OBD2 engine and it will work if i plug in my OBD1 ECU...is there any one who can confirm or deny this???cus if thats the case all i need to do is get a new harness...and not have to worry about all this other small bullshit..

yes this is true. one of my coworkers had a 93 hatch which we put a b18 out of a 98 LS sedan into. the teg harness plugs right into the shock tower plugs and then all you need is an ECU. We used a P75 ECU, which OBD1 Integra. Fired right up and ran with no CEL until he hit a deer.
You can run the b18 with your p28 ecu, but you'll have a CEL since the ECU will be looking for VTEC stuff.
hope that helps. Good Luck! :thumb:

#323831 ok so i have some fun updates...well i think its fun any ways..haha

got in my new motor mounts got them off ebay...figured id take a shot and see how they work...a friend got a set and work great for about a year now..hopefully i have the same luck..

also i originally ordered a new shift knob, boot and dual bend short shifter for the EK..but i figured id just keep it for my car now :thumb: :thumb: i only installed the knob for now..ill do the boot and shifter when i do the motor swap..
also got in my energy suspension bushings for the B series shift linkage and my LS obd1 ECU for the new motor

AND i got my ARP head studs in the mail a while back(not sure if i mentioned it already but all well...

the head is all finished and looks great..im going to pick it up tomorrow next up is the trans..i dropped that off at a buddys shop to open it up and make sure everything is in good condition..

after that its time for the block to go to the machine shop as well...still not sure on what extent i will be doing the bottom end considering i can just change to a vtec head at a later date...

soo no pics at the moment but will have some at a later date :thumb: :thumb:

thanks for following my build :woot:

if you're considering an ls-vtec at any point, these links are extremely useful. especially if you haven't done anything to the block yet.
